Antequera, Spain, the animals I met
This beautiful and very small (less then 1cm) cricket visited me. Here it is investigating a tentpole, in front of the zipper of my jacket. This family of animals consists of about 25.000 species and is living at Planet Earth since some 250 million years.
On the ground were signs of funnel-web spiders, but they ofcourse did not show themselfs. And I discovered one (...) normal sized spider.
And once more a beautiful small lizard was accompanying me. As long as you behave (slowly that is ...) they have no problem at all you are in their territory. Nor do they avoid my bicycle and even my socks haha.
Many times every day Roadrunner was visiting me. Many blackbirds live here and they are constantly searching for "something" to eat, and I guess it are ants. They pick to the ground very often and ants are all that is here (except for flies). I noticed they are not afraid but do keep a safe distance of some 4mts.
As soon as birds start singing you get happy. Instantly.
One day a perfect dragonfly chose the tree next to me as it's base from where to hunt for food. However, I did not see it succeed but succeeded in "shooting" it.
In the meantime two rabbits were running around. They never came close, they kept there distance always to some 50mts minimum. I know why ...
So far for the animals I met at my wildcampspot.
In town this stork was calling for his partner. Unfortunately it was the only one I saw this season. Which might be caused by there not being much appropriate food here. There are most likely no frogs and hardly any other animals of a storks-appropriate size.
I visited Club Hipico of Antequera and had a nice time at there competition weekend. But I was disappointed to see even a horse checking it's mobilephone ... As dutch Drs P. already analysed a very long time ago : "Waar moet dat heen, Hoe zal dat gaan, Zal straks de Aarde nog bestaan ?!"
And exercised my motioncontrol and steadyness after having had a beer. All still turned out to be oké !
I really loved my stay here in and near Antequera (and so I was here for a long time ...). With special thanks to my superior Panasonic FZ1000 camera 🖱️.
What's next ?! Granada maybe, or Malaga ?
